On March 26th -27th, the Synod Council met at Queen’s House Saskatoon for its annual March meeting. Chaplain Barb Weiss organized our worship times which included a communion service presided at by Rev. Sheldon Gattinger.
The Synod Council spent some time discussing ways that we can respond to the motions that were made at the May 2014 Synod Convention; reviewing the auditor’s report and spending time thinking through the strategic plan to be presented at the June 2016 Synod Convention. Committee reports were received for information and Bishop Susan Johnson presented on what is happening at the National Church. Council was pleased to hear of some of the National level decisions that have recently been made that will allow some exciting new initiatives in our Synod.
The Synod Council’s next meeting will be held by conference call on June 16th with an in person meeting from October 4th through 6th in Lumsden. If you’d like more information on what transpired at this or any other meeting, the minutes are available online.
