I was kindly reminded today by Facebook that one year ago TODAY about 100 Saskatchewan youth and leaders embarked on a wonderful bus trip through Edmonton, Jasper, Mt. Robson, Wells Gray Provincial Park and on to Kamloops, B.C. to attend CLAY 2014. What a great trip that was! It was such a joy to travel with a fun and kind group of people, to see the sites along the way, to be in relationship with each other and with God as we journeyed through those parts of Canada.
Big plans are in the works for a Maritime site seeing bus trip to take place before CLAY 2016 in Charlottetown, PEI. As of right now, the plan is for everyone who is coming on the bus trip to fly in to Halifax, NS on Sunday, August 14, 2016. We will spend 2 nights in Halifax while we take a day trip out of the city to see amazing places like Peggy’s Cove and we’ll also have a day in the city to go to the Citadel and hopefully go on a boat cruise in the harbour (yet to be confirmed!). From Halifax, we will take the bus to Moncton so we are close to Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy which we’ll visit at low tide so we can explore the ocean floor. Then we’ll head to Charlottetown to get ready for the gathering! It’s going to be an amazing trip!!
The hope is that registration forms will be sent out in September so watch for them! The price for the bus trip will be set by then, as well as some tips for booking your group’s flights (this is separate from the bus trip, but we’ll provide some tips and helpful hints, as well as some possible discounts that we may discover!).
The East Coast of Canada is truly one of the most amazingly beautiful places in the world! I hope you will consider jumping on the bus (well, first the plane!) to join us for this trip!
