Rev. Lori James Appointed to Sask Synod as Assistant to the Bishop

Bishop Sid Haugen announces the appointment of Rev. Lori James as ¼ time Assistant to the Bishop effective November 1, 2016. The position will focus on Leadership Development and Local Ministry Area Development. In Memoriam – Rev. Lewis Booth

BOOTH, Reverend Lewis Martin Reverend Lew Booth passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2016 after a brief illness. Lew was born January 5, 1925 at the family farm near Southey, SK. At age 17, he enlisted in the RCAF training as a pilot, and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1945. After his discharge, Lew worked at Eaton’s in furniture sales and as a carpenter. THANK YOU Thank you to all who made donations to the Lutheran Seminary General Fund that made it possible for LTS to have a modest surplus of $12,814 for the 2015-2016 financial year. Given that at the beginning of the budget year we started off with a deficit budget of approximately $43,000 achieving this surplus is truly remarkable.
